Season 2 / Mileyh’s delusion that she has stolen the moon reveals, beneath its seemingly pathological surface, a mode of cognition shaped by the media environment. 'A Third World' is an epistemic space in which the distinctions between knowing and believing, reality and illusion, and the physical and the virtual no longer operate.The moment memories and events are transferred into media, some elements are omitted while others are emphasized. Images within this space do not need to prove facts; through repetition and their entanglement with emotion and memory, they come to be believed as real. Media does not simply represent reality but produces the cognitive conditions that determine what can be believed as reality. This raises the question of how an image comes to be accepted as part of reality and acquires the status of the real.
